COURSES AND TUITION:

DJ COURSE

Introductory course: $399
Next course starts: WEDNESDAY 18^TH JANUARY 2012
4 weeks, Wednesday evenings 7pm-9pm
Understanding equipment, beat mixing, all the necessary basics, plus free use of the DMC studios for loads of practice time!

Week 1:

* Meet & Greet with Stewart & DJ tutor Johan (NuBody).

* What equipment we use on the course.

* How it all is set up and trouble shooting the gear.

* General run through on how to use CDJs, Turntables, DJ Mixer.

*Advice on where to shop for music, examples of genres

* Basic beat matching and practice.

Week 2

* Brief recap of previous week.

* Beat matching and music theory explained on white board.

* Advanced CDJ functions.

* Beat Matching and mix training.

Weeks 3

* Recap of previous week.

* How to use the mixers EQ when mixing two tracks together.

* Key mixing explained.

* Beat maching & mix training.

* Instruction on how to record a short demo mix

Week 4

* Recap of previous week.

* Advanced DJ FX functions.

* Utilising all things we have learned over past 4 weeks. Beat matching, EQing, FX use.

* Each student to perform a mix with their own music in front of class.

* Wrap up and chat.

ABLETON LIVE COURSE

4 week part time introductory course: $399
Creation, arrangement, effects and recording. Learn to map controllers, use Ableton to play live, make a CD compilation and more!

MUSIC PRODUCTION COURSE: L1

Creating a track from the ground up: $399
Programming: beats, bass, pads, lead lines etc.
Plug ins: software synths, samplers and drum machines, effects, EQ, compression, reverb, delay, filters etc.
Arrangement: DJ/dancefloor friendly production, how to shape a track from start to finish.
Mixing and mastering: DIY basics for getting your final stereo mix PUMPING!

ONE ON ONE TUITION

For $100 per hour DMC offers tuition from a range of highly regarded producers, including Danny Bonnici (Ableton Live), Lance Harrison (DJing), Hugh Marman (Ableton Live), Johan Elgstrom (Logic Pro, Maschine, Traktor, DJ course), Colin Snape (Logic Pro)
