Our 6-week introductory training course covers all facets of the industry, concentrating on the technical side including Beat & Key mixing on vinyl, CD and laptop, advanced techniques, use of samplers and effects units, Ableton live software, music production, plus tips on marketing yourself, approaching venues for work, taxation issues plus a lot more.

Lance Harrison is the Store Manager and Vinyl Buyer for DMC. His knowledge in music and DJing is second to none. Lance runs his own label, Pinksilver Music, where he constantly deals with International producers and DJ’s. Lance also produces his own electronic music for various labels around the world. You can find him playing his brand of techno & house at local and overseas venues like Watergate and Rechenzentrum (Berlin), FFour, Revolver, La Di Da, Brown Alley & Loop.

DJ Flagrant
As one of Oz’s finest turntablists, a major playa in the Aussie hip hop scene and one of the first hip hop DJ’s to embrace new technology, Flagrant has continued to push the boundaries of turntablism. He stops by to show you some of the latest laptop-based DJ technology, ‘Serato Scratch Live’.

Les Toth
From doorman to DJ, bodyguard and actor, quite simply Les is "the" legend in the Melbourne scene. He's been DJ'ing for over 30 years and has played virtually every venue in and around Melbourne. Les stops by to chat about his wealth of industry experience and to drop a few pearls of wisdom. He passes on the information only years in the business can provide, covering all aspects of DJ'ing and surviving in the dance music business.

A non-refundable deposit of $220 secures your place on the course and the balance of $330 is payable on the first night.
