NI sneek peek of new Traktor Controller.

NI has let the cat out of the bag, delivering a sneaky video of Dubfire testing out the new Traktor Pro controller, get excited people, this is going to change the digital DJ world for ever, RIP Serato! No release date or price as of yet WATCH THIS SPACE! Click to read more to see the video.
Quoted from Skratchworx.com:
# Large form factor like the Torq Xponent and Amercian Audio VMS4
# 4 channels
# 4 hot cues
# Transport controls below the jogs
# Sample player - looks like 4 slots per deck (or maybe 2 decks plus 2 sample banks?) with play, volume and maybe F for filter (should silence the haters at last)
# 4" Jogwheel with a big ass Traktor logo
# Some sort of status bar showing different lights - on air, samples, deck a/c and deck b/d indicators, keylock and master
# Loop controls to crunch or expand the loop with what looks like an numerical readout
# Built in track navigation and loading
# Big filter on each channel
# Lots of lights for ease of use in the dark
# I can't make out effects controls, but seeing as this controller largely mimics the interface of Traktor, I expect these controls are across the top
So my guess is that like the Kontrol X1 before it, this will be HID and give direct plug and play performance with this new version of Traktor, but will probably have a regular MIDI mode so that it can be used with other software too. Although I wouldn't expect Serato to break a sweat to make Scratch Live work with it in a hurry. Shame Dubfire doesn't give the jogs a workout for us. Perhaps he'll read this and report back - assuming he doesn't break some sort of soul reaping NDA of course.
Obviously, without official word from NI (so don't ask about price of availability), I have no idea on how much of what I've gleaned from freeze framing the clip is true, and indeed how much I've missed. One confirmation is that it does have a built-in audio interface, so it really is plug and play.
One thing is clear to me - this controller is very much in Serato's ITCH territory of 1 to 1 mapping. While you can use ITCH controllers with other software, each unit is designed very much with the software in mind. But with Traktor's feature set already established, Native seem to have made this new controller as near to 1 to mapping as possible. Hopefully, this will be as easy to work with as a VCI-300 - true plug and play with zero dicking around with config files. That's how the X1 works and I hope this does too.
Given the advanced albeit stickered up prototype stage of this controller, and the fact that a respected DJ like Dubfire seems happy to play out with it, I imagine we'll be seeing these hit the internetwaves very soon indeed. NI remain reluctant to release detail, but have said that more info will be forthcoming in August. Hmmm… knowing the internet, hi res will be out there by the end of the week and retailers will be listing it on their sites. Good luck keeping a lid on this one NI peeps. It's just too hot to handle.
